Three Healthy And Delicious Tea Drinks

Everyday around 4 pm, I need a little pick-me-up treat. I normally turn to a homemade cup of coffee, but recently after learning about the health benefits of tea, I felt like I should switch up my normal 4 pm drink routine.

So when I was approached with the opportunity to create some drink recipes using Born Sweet® Zing™ Zero Calorie Stevia Sweetener, I was determined to create delicious tea-based drinks that were also better for me.

I was happy to find that Zing™_Zero Calorie Stevia Sweetener is made with only real ingredients – nothing artificial. So you can sprinkle it in your coffee, tea, over fruit – and feel good about it.

Let’s get to the recipes.

Pineapple Apple Mint Green Tea Sangria (non-alcoholic)

One of my favorite tea shops serves what they call a “tea sangria”. Basically it’s iced tea with chopped up fruit in it. It’s delicious, refreshing and also once the tea is gone, it doubles as a snack.

I decided to recreate my own version using iced green tea and one of my favorite flavor combos – pineapple, green apple and mint.

Ingredients

  • 4 green tea bags
  • handful of fresh mint leaves
  • 1 whole fresh pineapple
  • 2-3 green apples
  • 2 packets of Zing™_Zero Calorie Stevia Sweetener
  • club soda

How to make it: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil seep 4 green tea bags in it as well as a handful of fresh mint. Allow bags to seep for 3-5 minutes then remove leaving in mint leaves. While the tea is still hot, add in 2 packets of Zing™_Zero Calorie Stevia Sweetener. This will make a lightly sweetened tea sangria – if you have a big sweet tooth, feel free to add more. Set tea in the refrigerator to cool.

While the tea cools, chop up your pineapple and apples into cubes and add to a large pitcher. Once your tea has cooled, pour it into the pitcher over the cubed fruit (removing mint leaves), cover the top with cling wrap, and refrigerate 3-4 hours to let the flavors of the tea and fruit infuse together.

Serve in a glass over ice with a splash of club soda. And don’t forget to spoon some of that delicious tea-soaked fruit into the glass.

Lemon Rosemary Sweet Tea Cocktail

Lately I’ve loved cocktails that are tea-infused. They’re refreshing, light, flavorful and a step above just a vodka water lime. This recipe puts a spin on classic sweet tea with lemon by throwing a little rosemary in there.

Ingredients

  • 2 black tea bags
  • a few sprigs of rosemary
  • fresh lemon
  • 1 packet of Zing™_Zero Calorie Stevia Sweetener
  • vodka
  • club soda

How to make it: Bring 2 cups of water to a boil and add to it 2 black tea bags and 2 sprigs of rosemary. Seep the tea bags for 2-3 minutes then remove, leaving the rosemary, then stirring in 1 packet of Zing™_Zero Calorie Stevia Sweetener while it’s still hot. Let sit until cool.

To create the cocktail, in a glass add ice, the juice of a quarter of a lemon, a shot of vodka and the cooled rosemary tea mixture. Top with a splash of club soda, and garnish with a slice of lemon and rosemary sprig.

Earl Gray Vanilla Tea Latte

One of my favorite treats to myself on a cold day is a warm latte, but on my mission to drink more tea than coffee, I’ve been diving into tea lattes. And the best part? They’re so easy to make at home. This one combines some of my favorite flavors, early gray and vanilla, but you can make your own latte using any tea and milk combo. The possibilities are endless.

Ingredients

  • 2 early gray tea bags
  • Vanilla almond milk
  • Zing™_Zero Calorie Stevia Sweetener

How to make it: Fill a mug halfway with boiling water, and seep in it 2 bags of earl gray tea. You’re essentially making a very strong and small cup of tea. Seep for 2-3 minutes then remove bags and sweeten to your likings with Zing™_Zero Calorie Stevia Sweetener. In a microwave safe container, microwave 1 cup of vanilla almond milk until hot. Remove and quickly whisk the hot milk to froth up.

Add frothy milk to your concentrated earl gray tea and enjoy.
