Movies We Are DYING To See In 2016

We know, we know, your New Year’s resolution was probably something like “watch less TV” or “work out more,” but we can’t help it, going to the movies just makes us happy– that’s why we’ve compiled a long list of movies being released in 2016 that we can’t wait to see in theaters. Kick all those over the top resolutions to the curb and make watching awesome, funny, emotional flicks with best friends the priority.

The Hateful Eight

It takes place in the middle of winter in Wyoming and there’s a bounty hunter and a prisoner and let’s be honest, all that you really need to know is that it’s a Quentin Tarantino film.

Set in the beautiful town of Palo Alto in 1985, this is the story of three 5th grade friends whose stories become intertwined when a mountain lion threatens their community. Warning: Wanderlust may occur as a result of this film.

The Revenant

Leonardo. DiCaprio. If he doesn’t get an Academy Award for this, we’ll cry.

13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi

Badass director Michael Bay has done it again. Based off a true story, 13 Hours is the story of six American soldiers  in Libya. Plus, John Krasinski is starring in it *heart eyed emoji*.

The Finest Hours

Set in 1952, Chris Pine *swoon* stars as a member of the coast guard. The fact that this is based off a true story gives us goosebumps.

Dirty Grandpa

Slightly inappropriate? Yes. Mildly offensive? Definitely. But Robert DeNiro, Zac Effron, Julianne Hough, and Zoey Deutch make this one hell of a comedy.

How to Be Single

Perfect for any girls night. Margs and martinis before, or after the movie?

Finding Dory

Finally. It only took 13 years.

The Choice

Nicholas Sparks  can make us cry, he can break our hearts, and he can force us to fall  in love with whomever he decides to kill off and we will still continue  to love any movie that is based off his novels — The Choice is no different.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2

Everything we hoped and dreamed came true.

The Jungle Book

One of our favorite childhood books will be a movie, and it looks both dark and enchanting.

The Huntsman: Winter’s War

Minus the whole being evil and killing  people, we secretly want to be this set of seductively scintillating sisters.

The Legend of Tarzan

Because who doesn’t love the story of Tarzan and Jane?

Star Trek Beyond

You don’t have to be a Trekkie to appreciate Star Trek and more importantly, Captain Kirk and Spock.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

J.K. Rowling has done it again. Seventy years before Harry Potter reads the textbook at Hogwarts, this is the tale about the secret community of witches and wizards in New York city and their magical beasts.

The Secret Life of Pets

If you have a pet, then this is going to be up your ally. We might even ask if we can bring our dogs with us to the theater, just this once, please?

Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice

We aren’t really sure if there are any words. But we can’t wait to see it.

The Benefactor

This is definitely going to tug at some heart strings. We’ve got tissues.
