As the growing number of indie bands continues to dominate our Pandora playlists, there is one up-and-coming group that is sure to change the way we see the indie-pop genre. Their name is PHOX.
Bursting out of the music scene in Madison, Wisconsin, this six member band has been all over our new music radar since early 2013 with the release of their first EP, Confetti. Their first major success came when they nailed a last minute spot at Lollapalooza in August 2013, and then later opening up for The Lumineers at Apple’s iTunes Festival in London this past September. Now the band is gearing up to release their self-titled debut album this June, which has already drawn attention from the major newspaper USA Today.

We can’t get enough of the music video and their totally rad lead singer Monica Martin.
We’ve been lovin’ on PHOX for quite some time, and now it’s your turn to fall head over heels for this eclectic summertime group.
*Fun fact: the band’s main interest (as described on their Facebook page) is the behavior of domestic cats. It doesn’t get any more indie than that.
