With each new year comes a new batch of talent – and let me tell you, 2015 will have no shortage of it. These ladies are breaking their way onto the scene and we couldn’t be more excited about the eclectic, strong, and individualistic voice women are building in music today. Here’s who made our list.
Step aside Iggy – there’s a new badass Aussie female rapper in town. And she’s only 18. Tkay Maidza‘s upbeat and eccentric music will be your new go-to jams while getting ready for the big night out on the town. We dare you not to dance.

Zella Day is our new favorite flower child. This LA lady released her EP this year and we expect big things from her. We also want to raid her closet.

this remix of her song “east of eden” is another favorite
Fickle Friends is currently climbing the charts and blowing it up in the UK – but their popularity has yet to make it overseas…until now. Lead singer Natassja Shiner blows us away with her vocals and their 80s synth-inspired songs are just too damn catchy not to listen up to.
for fans of: Walk the moon, NONONO, 80s Synth pop
Louisa Wendorff is currently blowing up the internet after Taylor Swift herself tweeted about her mash-up cover of “Blank Space” and “Style”. She’s is not only a musical genius when it comes to covers and mash-ups, she also has her very own EP and some incredible original songs. We expect BIG things from her in 2015.
For fans of: Ed Sheeran, sara bareilles, taylor swift (obvi)

If we could sum up singer/songwriter Kel‘s music in one word, it would be honest. From her pure voice, to genuine lyrics, to lullaby-like melodies, she’s an artist whose personality shines through her work.

We’re kinda obsessed with the Seattle duo, Lonnie and Thomas, who make up Cardiknox and can’t get enough of their eccentric sound. Listen and you’ll understand.

Get ready for Aussie Meg Mac to bring the soul. Enough said.
For fans of: adele, john legend, banks
Minneapolis native Lizzo is sassy, strong and smart and her music is a true reflection of that. We first discovered her when she teamed up with our favorite Caroline Smith in this video and have been following her ever since. Of course we love that she’s all about empowering women, and we also love that she has a hilarious YouTube video series, Big Grrrl Small World.
for fans of: missy elliot, iggy azaela, Nicki minaj
Liz and Louie of HOLYCHILD have described their unique sound as ‘Brat Pop’. They say their musical influences range from Fiona Apple, to Hemingway, to “things that happen in the world”. Well put.

New Jersey native Halsey will be taking the music scene by storm – we can just feel it. With a look that’s straight out of Nastygal and a sound like CHVRCHES she’s gonna make it big.
