A rainy day called for a DIY and exploring my mom’s sewing room. After picking up a 3 pack of natural looking cases from Hobby Lobby a few days before, we started going through ribbons and found a box with some vintage lace from our great-grandmother. After a quick trip to Jo-Ann’s for fabric glue and some more ribbon, we were ready to go. At the Lala, we love Free People(check out a post on getting the look for less) but can’t always afford their killer pieces on our college budgets. We decided to get in touch with our inner craftionista and make our own boho inspired bag to use as a clutch, make-up bag or even pencil case to have a one of a kind addition to our fall wardrobe.
1. Grab scissors, ribbons and fabric glue and begin placing ribbons on the case.
2. Trim around the edges and use clear nail polish to keep the edges from fraying.
3. Add a tassel to the zipper(also from Hobby Lobby) and it’s ready to go!
