There are few bands that make you drop everything and devoutly listen to their entire album from beginning to end. The Careful Ones demand just that.
Childhood best friends Joshua Robinson and Benji Bussell came together during the summer of 2011 after years of college, travel, and growth, realizing their lives had a lot in common: the loss of loved ones and personal illness. Joshua asked Benji if they could work together to share the stories of their lives through music in hopes to comfort others. Joshua recalls, “A few honest moments led to a few honest songs.” The Careful Ones became the result of the pair’s endeavors with the addition of a few other members: Steele Strader, Stephen Howell and Jon Santana.
The Careful Ones have such a pure and unique sound that we instantly became obsessed. Their voices fuse together in a way reminiscent of the hauntingly beautiful songs of Bon Iver, and their choice in instrumental arrangements is similar to The Paper Kites and The Lumineers.
