Gone Solo: Bleachers

Meet Jack Antonoff, the quirky musical genius behind Bleachers.  Originally known as the lead guitarist in Fun., Jack has branched off into a solo project and carved his own unique path in the music industry.  With its funky 80s beats and refreshing vocals, Bleacher’s first album “Strange Desire” could be mistaken for the soundtrack of a John Hughes movie (which actually serves as the inspiration for the album’s sound and aesthetic!)  Check out the video directed by his girlfriend (the amazing Lena Dunham) to get a better feel for the Bleachers.

Surprisingly, the singer had no initial intentions of going solo.  Writing music was a way for him to document the feelings he had surrounding his new found fame with Fun., which eventually transformed into a full-fledged album.  Making appearances at Outside Lands and the VMAs, Bleachers is rapidly rising to its well deserved fame.  Jack Antonoff may consider this as a side project today,  but we’re hoping he decides to keep writing music with Bleachers into the future.
