Hate Working Out? 4 Reasons To Try Yoga

Working out is something that we are all told is important, but that doesn’t mean it’s for everyone. Some people love getting a runner’s high; others hate it. Some people love going to the gym at the end of a long day; others would rather take a nap. If you’re in the latter category, but still want to be healthy, yoga is something that may be just for you. Here are some reasons on why we think you should start doing yoga if you hate working out.

#1: It Doesn’t Feel Like Working Out: Yoga is such a different type of work out. It doesn’t feel the same as going for a run. It helps you relax while building muscle and making you more flexible. Also, you don’t need to take out an hour of your time to do it. Most sessions or videos are about 30 minutes, and they make you feel like a new person!

#2: Building Muscle is Easy: If you are trying to get toned, and think yoga won’t help, think again! There are so many videos all over YouTube with titles like “Full-Body Toning Yoga Workout.” You’d be surprised on how well they really work, and how easily these stretches will build muscle!

#3: It’s Cheap: Honestly, YouTube should be everyone’s best friend. You can find any workout video, not just yoga, online and do it all at home with no gym membership. Not only that, but your university may also offer yoga classes, which is a great opportunity to schedule yoga into your life. Also, yoga is super cheap because all you need is yourself. You can totally get a yoga mat and maybe some blocks, but you really don’t need them to still get the full experience. Also, if going to the gym gives you anxiety, and you’d rather not see the guy you made out with at that party last night (while working up a sweat), online videos are perfect since you can work out in the privacy of your own room!

#4: You Feel So Much More Relaxed: Some people feel amazing after a good workout; others feel like s***. If working out makes you feel like a lump of lard, maybe try out yoga. The poses that help stretch out your muscles and tone at the same time will feel amazing after a long day of sitting in class.
