It’s hard to be well-read when you’ve got a lot of things on your plate and you’re perpetually adding more. Newsflash: Being busy doesn’t have to be bad, it just means you need to be smart about how you spend your time. Newsletters make that easy to do.
These newsletters take the extra work out of being knowledgeable, letting you wake up to something inspiring, fun, informational, you name it. I’m notoriously picky about what I like in my inbox and these have lasted the test of time–some have lasted for months and some have even lasted years.

Media girls, this one is for you: “The Cohort is Poynter’s bi-monthly newsletter about women kicking ass in digital media.” Could it get more perfect? Yep! It’s perfect for an early career professional or someone who’s just getting their toes wet in digital media. Sign up here

You’ve gotta be up-to-date on current events and this newsletter is just like having a conversation with your best friend about what you might have missed yesterday and what you need to know today. It covers the important topics, breaks down confusing things like the ongoing crisis in Syria and throws in a few pop culture references to keep it fun and lighthearted. Sign up here
